The cover of the Dec. 8 issue of The New Yorker features President-elect Barack Obama vetting the First Puppy. The term “vetting” actually means “to submit an animal to examination by a veterinarian”.
Barry Blitt drew the cover and is the cartoonist responsible for the controversial terrorist fist-jabbing cover earlier this year with Obama and First Lady-elect Michelle Obama.
Regarding their pick for a pup, the Obamas have stated they want a mutt, but that it needs to be hypoallergenic and won’t be a girly dog.
RICE TO BE UN AMBASSADOR
Dr. Susan Rice - no relation to outgoing Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice - is slated to become the U.S. face at the United Nations.
An ex-National Security Council member and former assistant secretary of state, Rice worked as a top foreign policy advisor to the campaign of President-elect Barack Obama.

World AIDS Day is recognized each year on December 1 to raise money, increase awareness, fight prejudice and improve education regarding a leading killer of black men and women. Many of those who are infected with the disease are unaware of their HIV status and may unknowingly transmit the virus to others. An exclusive video clip from the upcoming movie “Cadillac Records” was released online earlier this week. In the clip, Etta James (portrayed by Beyonce) and Leonard Chess (portrayed by Adrien Brody) have a conflict over the direction of a song, but ultimately Etta pulls it off.

Singer Ashanti took part in the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC on Thursday afternoon. The singer who has a bunch of ventures coming up next year (new shoe line with Kelis and a book) recently took part in the one-night-only Broadway performance of, The Yellow Brick Road Not Taken. During which she was a main singer who closed the show with, “Defying Gravity.”

Peep Jamie Foxx’s new video “Just Like Me,” featuring T.I. Directed by famed movie director Brett Ratner, the video will premiered earlier this week.
With a modern day take of “anything you can do, I can do better,” Foxx and actress Taraji P. Henson battle in a series of funny challenges from Guitar Hero to a stare down contest, for Foxx to eventually find out that she’s just like him when it comes to competition.
Intuition, Foxx’s third studio album (second on J Records) will be available everywhere on December 16th.
